THE MIRIMAR DISASTER - S/T

Might as well join in the Kerrang! Based loving which these lads are getting at the moment..
The debut album from the Sheffield based 5-piece has been highly anticipated since the three track teaser was given away free, nearly two years ago. On the back of rave live reviews the album of ten tracks seems too few to quench the thirst of fans.
The strength of the all members of the band, are brought together in the album, with impressive drumming being equally matched by savage riffs, meaty bass-lines and the frantic yelps and screams.
The album varies from slow, melodic stoner rock like “Persius” and “Let them Stay Behind” to frenzied, fast riffs of tracks like “Scenario”. The entire album has this almost ambient, distance feel but manages to draw you in immediately, there’s not a single person I wouldn’t recommend this too as it seems to cater for most of the “alternative rock scene”. All tracks flow in between genres with breaks of insanity drifting into the mellow... The quality of recording is top notch. The tracks level out at roughly an hour, which is too short in my opinion. It’s all just bloody brilliant. I want more.
