TRENCHER - LIPS

The unpredictable chaos of the Trencher sound is over this 9 track, medley of musical insanity. The London based, three piece create a wall of noise hard to define with phrases like spaz/math/grind/electronica covering barely half of it.
The rolling evolution of the tracks from the frantic Mouth to Anus (at 1.20minutes the shortest track on the album) to the absurdity of In Reverence (at 7.34mins) is astonishing while complex, competent and sporadic provides a flexible backbone to the attacking Trencher beast.
Although for an album that clocks in at just under 25minutes (even boasting the video for Mouth to Anus directed by Adam Lieber) the variety of sounds, from anguished yelps, squeals and screams to ever-throbbing, mean casio melodies. There’s no way you could ever see this 9tracker as a waste, more a lead away from more mainstream fractions of “heavy” music.
