Shane Meadows never fails to impress, what an awesome follow up to the now cult horror/drama 'dead mans shoes'! This film could well be a contender for best british film, even knockin trainspottin off the top spot in my books! Set in early 80's, in Thatchers Britain, a troubled boy Shaun (Thomas Turgoose who was found in a Grimsby Arcade and was asked to go to an audition) who constantly gets picked on by bullies at school. He gets taken under the wing of a few skins under a bridge. This film gives a completly different angle on skinheads and shows their true side, a side that Shane Meadows himself experienced as a child. |
